Binatone was one of several companies to make Pong Machines in the 1970s, the company was founded by two brothers in the UK in 1958 and named the company after their sister Bina, the company started by importing radios from Hong Kong and would go on to manufacture electronic goods and were once one of the UK’s largest manufacturers of cordless phones. Pong machines are the oldest type of video game console with the first one being the Magnavox Odyssey in 1972 and were made by many companies throughout the 1970s with Binatone starting in 1976. Binatone made five black and white versions and four colour versions (all the colour ones correspond to a back and white one), the number on the console represents the number of games on there and the game is changed was a switch or buttons depending on the model. Most of these games are variants of pong but some games used a light guns to shoot moving objects on the screen, unfortunately light guns only work on CRT screens.
