Description
The Jupiter Ace was a British home computer produced by Jupiter Cantab and launched in 1982. Built around the Zilog Z80 processor, it shared the same core hardware lineage as many machines of its era. Its white, Spectrum‑like casing made it instantly recognisable, but the Ace set itself apart in a more unusual way: instead of the widespread BASIC language, it shipped with Forth as its primary programming environment. That distinctive choice, combined with limited commercial software, very simple sound from an internal speaker, and a character‑based display that lagged behind rivals, meant the Ace struggled to gain traction. It ultimately failed to achieve significant market success.
